Sandy Enhancement Group is pleased to announce that entries for the 2008 Best Kept Competition are now being taken. There are categories for Front Gardens, Road/Street, Allotment, Pub/Restaurant, Shop Front and a new category of Floral Display.

Last year we had 32 entries for the Best Front Garden and we are hoping for more this year. Banks Drive has won the Best Kept Road/Street for the last two years - so if you want to beat them now is the time for neighbours to get together and make their street the best. In the Best Kept Shop Front category - we will be looking for clean windows, good paintwork, and bricks, no weeds or graffiti and with extra marks being given for floral displays. Cllr Geoff White, who brought up the issue of some of the shop fronts in Sandy needing some attention earlier this year will be one of the judges.

The closing date for entries is 6th July and the judges from Sandy Enhancement Group and Sandy Town Council will be out looking at all the entries during July. The prize winners will be announced at the Sandy Horticultural Show on 17th August.
